The best air purifier for a bedroom

We track 7 air purifiers and score each 0-10 on rated coverage and buyer evidence. A bedroom needs less coverage than an open-plan living room, so this page keeps the scores and shows each unit's rated coverage next to its review base, with an honest note on the spec we do not have: noise.

Sizing

Why headroom helps at night

Coverage ratings come from manufacturer test conditions with the unit at full speed. A purifier rated for 1,000 ft² holds a small bedroom's air at a lower fan setting, which is exactly where you want it while sleeping.

The exception is the Core Mini-P, rated at 178 ft² and AHAM Verifide. It is the one tracked unit sized for a small room at full speed, and its table row shows the score cost of that smaller coverage.

Honest limits

The bedroom spec we do not have

We do not track decibel figures, and for a bedroom that is a real gap. If sleep-mode noise decides your purchase, owner reviews on the product pages are the better source, and each pick above links to one.

Scores here weigh rated coverage and buyer evidence (rating and review volume), normalized across the 7 tracked units. The full formula lives on the methodology page.

FAQ

Questions, answered

  • Is a 1,000 ft² purifier overkill for a bedroom?
On paper, yes, and that is the point: headroom lets the unit hold air quality at lower, quieter settings. The rating itself comes from the manufacturer's test conditions.
  • Do you track noise levels?
No. Decibel figures are not in our dataset and we do not quote them. If sleep-mode noise is the deciding factor, owner reviews are the better source.
  • What does the score weigh?
Rated coverage plus buyer rating and review volume, normalized across the 7 tracked units. Weights and formula are on the methodology page.
