A camping panel earns its keep three ways: watts per pound, real-world efficiency, and surviving weather. Across the 11 panels we track (100–200 W rated), these three lead the field.

The matching game
Every power station caps its solar input. A 400 W panel plugged into a station capped at 200 W delivers 200 W — the rest is dead weight you carried. Check your station's solar input ceiling first, then buy the panel that fills it, not the biggest one on the table.
Watts per pound
Rooftop-mounted RV panels can be heavy; carry-to-the-campsite panels can't be. We score weight at 25% for this reason — the spread in our set runs from backpackable to car-only.
Efficiency honesty
Efficiency decides how much panel area you need for the same watts — a few points either way changes the footprint on a picnic table, not the headline output. Treat it as a tiebreaker after watts and weight, not a headline.
